WHITE SIZE XL JUSTICE FOR HAGS TEE - ONE AVAILABLE (58cm underarm to underarm)

This limited edition, vintage garment has been hand printed without solvents using water-based inks. It was printed using hand cut paper stencils. I source my garments from charity shops and launder them thoroughly using soda ash to remove historic dirt or odours and to restore colour brightness. Soda ash is a natural mineral compound that I also use to make my avocado ink - so it’s very useful stuff to have.

All my Justice for Hags products were inspired by a news story in which Rose Knox Peebles, an 82 year old opera actor, was criticised by a reviewer in the Financial Times for looking ‘a fright’. Quoted in The Guardian, she said; “I was furious. I hadn’t been ‘made up’ to look like a fright. That’s what I looked like. It was me. I don’t actually think I do look like a fright”, she added. “I’m perfectly happy with the way I look.”
