‘Folk Bird’ - Framed Miniature Textile Art, Print & Stitch Panel

‘Folk Bird’ - miniature textile art. I made a series of screen prints to paper and fabric inspired by the wonderful simplicity and naive charm of folk art embroidery. This is one of my favourite pieces from that series - it’s a screen print to wool melton made using hand cut paper stencils, with giant embroidery loops in electric blue cotton. I love printing on wool - the softness and depth of the fibres give the ink more richness which really makes the colours pop. Hand framed using recycled wood in the studio, signed on the back and ready to hand on your wall. 11cm x 11cm.
