Folk Art Bird (red)

This year I made a series of decorative prints to wool, wood and paper inspired by folk art embroidery, mid-century ceramics and therapy. I love the naive charm of folk art and remember wearing embroidered cheesecloth blouses with folk motifs on them when I was little. I also collect kitsch mid-century pottery from makers like Carltonware and Hornsea. Sometimes, it’s enjoyable to make decorative work that pulls all your favourite inspirations together.
